CloudFlare has launched a brand new app on their platform named ScrapeShield.
CloudFlare ScrapeShield as the name suggests is designed to help you prevent scrapping of content from your own websites.
It comes with multiple features:
Page content protection: This is the most powerful component. The app keeps track of third party websites that copies content from your website. You can use provided HTML codes to individual components on your web pages for better tracking.
Block Pinterest: Pinterest offers a meta tag that blocks pinning of content from your website. This enables it by default on your websites.
E-Mail Obfuscation: This is an existing functionality that scrambles email addresses posted on your web pages from spiders.
Hotlink Protection: This is also an existing functionality that blocks third party services from hotlinking your hosted images.
Maze: This is a crowdsourcing platform that enables CloudFlare to profile websites that scraps data from other sites. CloudFlare asks your permission to join this platform based on your website’s activities.
