China Unicom to sell Android phones with Google services
China Unicom has stated that they would sell Android powered devices in the market but without Google services.
Google has started forwarding queries from China to their search engine in Hong Kong which does not censor search engine results. This goes against the local laws in China related to web services.
China Unicom stated that they are willing to work with any company that is abiding by the local laws. They currently have no understanding with Google to use their services on their devices.
Google is the company behind the Android mobile platform. It is an open source platform and companies are free to remove Google branded services from it.
