China claims to have more than 400 million mobile users
China is one of the fastest growing markets in the world and already has taken the credit of becoming the second largest internet market in the world after the United States. However, the country takes the cake for being the world’s largest mobile market.
The country claims to now have more than 400 million customers of mobile services. As per government agencies, the number of subscribers on the country’s mainland rose 5.4 million in January to 398 million.
The exact figures for now are not available but the growth rate points to a current user base of more than 400 million mobile customers in the country. China happens to be the world’s most populous nation with more than 1 billion people so this figure does not come as a surprise to many. China also claims to have more than 100 million internet users.
Mobile technology arrived in China way back in 1987 and it took them around 10 years to reach a subscriber base of around 10 million mobile customers. The mobile customers overtook the subscribers to fixed line services a couple of years back.
