Microsoft browser ballot coming next month in Europe
Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users in the European market would be delivered an update by Microsoft soon.
This update would run the browser ballot window on the machines asking the users to pick the web browser of their choice.
Microsoft would also unpin Internet Explorer from the taskbar on Windows 7 operating system as part of this initiative.
Microsoft was forced to reach this compromise by the European Commission as part of their investigation into the Microsoft’s dominating position in the web browsers market.
The five browsers that would be given preference are:
and of course Internet Explorer.
Seven more browsers would be displayed down the order. Internet users in UK, Belgium, and France would be the first one to get this update.
