China launches their own edition of GPS named Beidou

China has finally launched their own version of the GPS technology named Beidou.

Chinese government has been working on this project for more than a decade now.

The launch of this platform is currently limited.

They are aiming to cover the entire world by 2020. The idea is to provide services across the planet.

For now, it is offering coverage of China and neighboring countries.

The project aims to eventually have 35 satellites covering the entirety of the planet.
