BBC iPlayer set to add support for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch

Industry sources are reporting that BBC is set to expand support for their iPlayer mobile app to Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices. It has already supported the iPad for a while now.

The app however remains restricted to limited international markets.

The updated app is likely to be released on December 8. BBC would make it available in following markets:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

BBC iPlayer offer their own programming on streaming basis to international viewers for a monthly subscription.
