Azim Premji Foundation Announces Fellowship Programme 2016

Azim Premji Foundation has announced its Annual Fellowship Programme in Karnataka. The Programme aims to give a deep experience of the education and social sector to a broad range of people across industries. Applications for this programme are invited from people having 3 to 10 years of work experience, with a post-graduate or a professional degree in any discipline and the desire to contribute to quality and equity of public education system. Knowledge of Kannada is required as the fellows will be placed in blocks in rural districts of Karnataka. The Fellowship carries a monthly stipend of Rs. 27000 ((Provident Fund and Health Insurance benefits are in addition). Last date for submitting the application is April 25, 2016.

Selection is based on an online assessment followed by personal interviews. The Fellowship is a 2-year full-time program where the first year will involve teaching in government schools and participating in the activities of the Field Institutes of the Foundation in rural parts of Karnataka. This will enable the Fellows to build a deeper understanding of public education and develop their perspectives of education. The second year would be focused on hands-on projects and capacity building of the Fellows, preparing them for roles they can play in the Field Institute after completing the Fellowship.

After an induction of 2 weeks in Bengaluru, Fellows will be posted in any of the blocks in Anekal taluk of Bangalore district, Bidar, Bagalkot Bijapur, Bellary, Koppal, Mandya, Raichur and Yadgir.
