Asus has launched their ultrabook model Zenbook in the Indian market.
The base configuration is priced at around Rs. 90,000.
It comes powered with an Intel core i7 processor. 4GB RAM is included. Asus has also loaded it with a 256GB SSD and a 13.3 inch display.
The company hinted that they are going to launch cheaper variants of Zenbook in India early next year.
Asus Zenbook is designed to take on the Apple MacBook Air model which created the whole ultrabook segment in the laptop market.
Intel is deeply involved in the development of such laptops. They however expected these devices to be priced at around USD 1000 (Rs. 50,000). We are yet to see ultrabooks that are priced around these levels. Though things should improve in the coming months.
2011 has been the year of the Tablet PCs. There are strong hints that 2012 could be all about ultrabooks!
