Assocham: Social networks impacting Indian workers too
Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry has stated that social networks are hindering work in offices in India.
The report said that company workers spending time online on social networks during office hours is leading to a loss in productivity of nearly 12.5%.
These findings were based on responses from nearly 4,000 corporate employees.
Assocham said: “Close to 12.5% of productivity of human resource in corporate sector is misappropriated each day since a vast majority of them while away their time accessing social networking sites during the office hours.”
Orkut and Facebook are two of the most popular social networks in corporate houses as per the report.
The saddest finding was that around 83% of the respondents thought it was ok for them to surf on social networks during office hours.
