Apple has a warning for the developers of iOS apps.
The company said that developers should avoid using services of third party companies that promises to help in improving the app rankings on the Apple App Store for a charge.
These companies charge a good amount of money for running bots that download apps multiple times resulting in a boost for the app on the App Store charts.
Apple of course would be able to monitor such suspicious activities from their backend.
The company warned that such behavior could result in the cancelation of the developer’s Apple Developer Program membership.
Apple said in a note:
Once you build a great app, you want everyone to know about it. However, when you promote your app, you should avoid using services that advertise or guarantee top placement in App Store charts. Even if you are not personally engaged in manipulating App Store chart rankings or user reviews, employing services that do so on your behalf may result in the loss of your Apple Developer Program membership.
