Apple’s Mac App Store strategy has worked wonders for them. I mean it’s pretty awesome that they get 30% of the revenues generated from it.
Adobe has just launched Photoshop Lightroom 4 on the Mac App Store. It is priced at USD 150. This means that Adobe could be losing around USD 45 on each sale to Apple.
They might have a special low percentage deal with Apple though.
Adobe and Apple are competitors in some markets of course. So, it would be interesting to see what more apps are offered through this store in the future by Adobe.
Microsoft is launching a similar store in Windows 8… And they have similar plans to take a cut on each sale!
