Adobe giving up on Flash for Linux

Adobe continues to discard more platforms with their Flash Player technology.

The company has already announced that they have stopped focusing on mobile platforms with Flash Player.

They are now discarding direct support for Linux platform.

This means that Adobe Flash Player 11.2 is the last official release by the company for Linux.

Adobe said that users would be able to get access to latest updates through Google Chrome web browser which would. Google would provide newer editions through a new plugin API called ‘Pepper‘.

Mozilla Firefox is also expected to get support for Pepper in the future. Until that happens, Chrome would retain the advantage of having newer editions of Adobe Flash Player.
