Apple admits that some iPod nano are faulty

Apple launched their pint sized iPod nano amongst much fanfare and received a phenomenal response with Apple fans rushing to the stores to buy them. However, recent reports have claimed that a lot of Apple iPod nano owners have issues with the display screen of this tiny but highly innovative device capable of color display and playing digital music. Some users have totally damaged/broken screens of their iPod nano… while others have screens, which are scratched way too easily.

However, Apple has said that the case is not so with the entire shipments of the Apple iPod nano. The company has however confirmed that the problem does exist. The company said: “This is a real but minor issue involving a vendor quality problem in a small number of units. Our figures show this issue has affected less than 1/10 of 1% of the total iPod nano units that we’ve shipped. It is not a design issue.”

The company has also offered a free replacement program for the affected owners of the nano. They are however not admitting that the screen of the device is very susceptible to scratch. Apple had this to say on the scratch issue: “A few vocal customers are saying that their iPod nano is more susceptible to scratching than prior iPods. We have received very few calls from customers reporting this problem, and do not believe this is a widespread issue.”

Apple is recommending that owners of Apple iPod nano should buy one of the many available iPod nano cases to protect the players when not in use.
