Britney Spears continues to top Yahoo! Search
Britney Spears might not have released an album in 2005. She might be home taking care of her newly born baby. Nevertheless, she continues to dominate the internet searches as the report released by search engine giant Yahoo! shows. For the third time in the last four years, Britney Spears has dominated the searches on the Yahoo! Search Engine.
Looks like the turnaround in the life of this singing sensation helped keeping the curiosity alive in the singer’s name on the internet. She failed to top the list last year when the concert “American Idol†topped the list in 2004. However, Britney was tops in the year 2002 and 2003. And like many years before, the list continued to be dominated by show-business figures.
The report also showcases the fact that people continues to be fixated on pop culture icons instead of more relevant topics on the internet. Britney was followed closely by another singing sensation, 50 Cent. Third on the list was Cartoon Network which is a television channel targeted at the kids and adults alike.
Others completing the top 10 were: Mariah Carey, Green Day, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Eminem, Ciara, and Lindsay Lohan. This list was included in the annual Yahoo! ‘Buzz Index’ poll, which was released on Friday this week.
