Sony Corporation to announce new corporate strategy
Sony Corporation has announced that they would soon be announcing their new corporate strategy under the new management team led by Chairman and Chief Executive Howard Stringer. They are due to held an important press meeting on the September 22 and it would also be attended by President Ryoji Chubachi and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Nobuyuki Oneda.
The reason behind these new strategies is that the company has not shown any major improvement in their earnings despite the new reforms they have launched in the last couple of years to get better products out in the market. They have tried cost cuttings and launching more generous products than their competitors have. Apple and Microsoft are two companies, which have encroached in their territories and have made them suffer in two different markets.
As a result, Analysts and investors called for a new management plan to get the company’s policies back on track. The new plans expected to be announced on September 22 might involve further restructuring measures in Sony’s loss-making ailing electronics business, such as withdrawals from unprofitable operations.
It would be interesting to see what the company has in stores for their shareholders and investors on the future of the iconic entertainment giant of our times.
