iPod Radio Remote: Apple brings a Radio add-on to their iPod players
For people complaining about the lack of a radio player in the Apple iPod digital player, Apple now has a solution for you. And it hooks on to your existing Apple iPod and does not require you to purchase a new unit! The company unveiled a new remote control device featuring an FM radio for its iPod portable music players.
Apple launched the iPod Radio Remote during the launch ceremony of their Intel powered Macintosh computers at the annual MacWorld Expo in San Francisco. This add-on device not only enables the iPod owners to control the various functions on their iPod while it is tucked away deep in a pocket or jacket, it also enables them to listen to Radio stations using their iPod players.
This new iPod Radio Remote supports the iPod nano and the fifth generation iPods. Apple added in its statement during the launch ceremony: “The iPod Radio Remote is a convenient way for music lovers to skip tracks and adjust the volume of their iPod even when it’s in a pocket or backpack, and listen to FM radio stations while displaying station and song information on their iPod screen.â€
The package also comes with a pair of Apple headphones with a shorter cable and is already available for sale on the Apple Stores for USD 49.
