Sony to soon launch 10-megapixel CyberShot DSC-R1
With Canon recently launching the Canon 5D camera which really excited the fans and potential users with its capacity, its now the turn of Sony to steal the limelight. The entertainment company has announced plans to soon launch a new high-end digital still camera to its line-up in November and the model is the 10-megapixel CyberShot DSC-R1.
CyberShot DSC-R1 would be featuring a large Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 5X optical zoom lens, which would make it a very desirable product like the other high-end Sony models. The camera body is attached to the back of the lens and then extends to the right. It also features an APS-class CMOS sensor which makes it the same size as an APS (Advanced Photo System) negative. This is similar to what is found in very high class professional cameras allowing high sensitivity to light and low image noise, or graininess.
CyberShot DSC-R1 would also feature a 2-inch LCD that folds up from the top of the camera and can be swiveled around to face the photographer and other usable positions making it convenient for the user to click photographs. The shot-to-shot time is 1 second and the camera has a 3-shot burst shooting mode. Sony plans to launch CyberShot DSC-R1 during the month of November in the United States and plans to price it around USD 1000.
