Some vendors are even offering it at a lower price tag making it a great value for money offering from the company. It would be replacing the existing GeForce 6800 product in the competitive segment of cards priced below USD 250.

This updated model has 12-pixel pipelines and five vertex engines similar to its predecessor. However, the Nvidia has upgrade the 325MHz core clock and 350MHz memory clock speeds up to 425MHz and 500MHz, respectively in the new GS card. GeForce 6800 GS also comes with 256MB GDDR3 memory and a 256-bit memory interface.

Nvidia has launched the PCI Express version of this graphic card and it is also compatible with the dual video card SLI systems. The company recommends that the PC should have a 350W system power supply for single cards and a 420W supply for SLI configurations. Nvidia has also said that the market price of this card could go even lower.

Consumers can buy these GeForce 6800 GS cards immediately from online retailers like Newegg, Monarch Computer, and Zip Zoom Fly with prices in the $229-$249 range.
