Maruti Suzuki reports impressive sales in October
The Indian auto market did very well in the month of October. With Diwali coming, the sales of automobiles were high and the market leader Maruti Suzuki also showed impressive results. The company Maruti Udyog Limited has reported that they have attained a 14.7 per cent increase in sales during the month of October. They sold around 50,308 vehicles in the domestic market.
This is an improvement from the 43,650 units sold during the same period last year. If we add the export figures of 1,235 units, the total sale reaches impressive figures of 51,543 units. Maruti Alto continued to dominate the proceedings for the company as it topped the charts once again with sales of 15,558 units.
In fact, Maruti Udyog Limited reported sales of around 31,531 in the A2 segment. This segment consists of cars like Maruti Alto, Maruti Zen, Maruti WagonR, and Suzuki Swift. This alone is an improvement of around 35.1 per cent from October 2004. The upper segment consisting of models like Baleno and Esteem grew by a modest 18.7 per cent compared to the same month last year.
