Walmart and other international retail chains are now selling Google Chromebooks

Google has announced that Chromebooks are now on sale through more retailers than ever before.

Walmart is the latest to join the group. They are now selling the Acer Chromebook through 2800 of their retail stores around the USA.

Staples too would soon start selling various models of Chromebooks in their stores in the US market. In addition, Office Depot, Office Max, and regional chains Fry’s and TigerDirect locations would also join the group.

Google added about international availability of Chromebooks:

In the 10 other markets worldwide where Chromebooks are sold, availability in national retailers continues to expand. In addition to Dixons in the UK, now 116 Tesco stores are selling Chromebooks, as well as all Mediamarket and Saturn stores in the Netherlands, FNAC stores in France and Elgiganten stores in Sweden. In Australia, all JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman stores will be carrying Chromebooks for their customers as well. We’re working hard to bring Chromebooks to even more countries later this year.

There are still no plans to bring Chromebooks to the Indian market however.
