Sony PlayStation Now would offer cloud powered gaming without a dedicated gaming console

Sony this week announced their PlayStation Now platform which would offer gaming without a dedicated gaming console.

The actual processing would happen on Sony data centers. Gamers would be able to play games on compatible Sony Bravia television sets.

The company said that they are not ready to launch the service for public use right now but it is coming soon.

It would be a subscription based service where gamers would be paying a monthly fee. Some hardware would of course needed to be purchased for the same.

Sony acquired cloud gaming service provider Gaikai two years ago. Sony PlayStation Now is based on technologies acquired through that deal.
