Microsoft is discontinuing linked accounts feature on their Outlook.com platform.
The company is recommending users to switch over to Aliases functionality if they want to use multiple IDs on the web.
To help users migrate from Linked Accounts to Aliases, they are offering two features:
Mail forwarding: So that you can fetch mails from other accounts to your primary account.
Send email from another account: So that you can send mails from other accounts from your primary account.
We believe that aliases provide a more robust and secure capability for managing multiple email addresses. You can send and receive email from different addresses and keep it all organized the way you like. And all of this is tied to a single Microsoft account that has your latest and most up-to-date security info.
Linked accounts feature would be discontinued at the end of next month. You have till then to make the transition.
