Maruti Suzuki India launched a revamped 800cc variant of their Alto late last year. The model featured a brand new designed and was priced competitively.
I am not a fan of this design but the car has been a success for the company as it has already sold 1 lakh units in the last four months.
At an average of around 25000 units per month, Alto 800 has become the new best seller in the Indian market replacing the older Alto.
This model comes powered with a petrol 796cc engine capable of delivering 22kmpl. Pricing starts at around Rs. 2.4 lakhs. The top variant costs around Rs. 3.6 lakhs. There is no diesel version.
It competes with Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano.
