Google releases more info on the HP Chromebook 11 problem

Google has released information for the owners of the HP Chromebook 11.

The company had stopped selling this Chromebook few weeks ago after a problem was discovered with the charger.

Apparently the charger shipping with this model was faulty and could result in fire. Google and HP have redesigned the charger and it is now available to owners of the older units.

Google is advising owners of the units purchased before December 2013 to not use the charger that came with the Chromebook. They can apply to get a free replacement of the charger.

HP Chromebook 11 charger is a regular micro USB charger so owners of defective units can use any smartphone or tablet charger with it.
