Apple Siri to use Microsoft Bing as the default search engine source in iOS 7

Apple showcased their next major update to iOS at WWDC event earlier today. The new user interface of iOS 7 is getting extreme reactions. I personally do not like it but then I am pretty much an Android fanboy.

One of the new enhancement in this update is the integration of Microsoft Bing in Apple Siri. Siri would now use Bing as its source for user queries that relates to web searches.

Microsoft spoke about this integration:

Starting this fall with iOS 7, Bing will power Siri’s new integrated web search. When users ask Siri a question either the specific answer or web search links will now be delivered automatically so users can find information even faster. Bing was designed from the outset to be a great place for web search helping customers quickly find what they are looking for and get more out of search. We are thrilled that all the great results people have come to know and love on will now be available to Siri users on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Now, Bing might be a pretty good search engine when it comes to searches related to United States, it might not turn out to be that good for international users of iOS devices.
