Amazon S3 is now storing more than 2 trillion objects

Amazon has reached another milestone with their Simple Storage Service platform. The company revealed today that they are now storing more than 2 trillion objects.

And the platform is seeing more than 1.1 million requests per second at peak usage times.

Amazon Web Services has become one of the most comprehensive cloud based solution on the web today. It is used by individuals developing mobile apps to Netflix which uses it to stream movies and other video content.

The competition is getting fierce now with both Google and Microsoft offering competing services. But Amazon has kept up the pace and continues to lead the pack.
